既存躯体を隠さず、その荒さと量感を空間の前提として受け止めた住まい。階段や梁、構造の残す強い輪郭は、単に露出させるだけでは硬さが勝ち、未完の印象に傾きやすい。そこでガラスの間仕切りを挿入し、階段をショーケースの中に収めるように構成することで、躯体を見せながらも、光と反射をまとった奥行きへと変換した。

鉄の細やかな質感、ステンレスキッチンの艶、ガラスの透明感を重ねることで、粗い躯体と生活の精度を均衡させる。躯体によって残された「間」を埋めるのではなく、透過する素材によって整え、住まいの余白として引き受ける。構造の硬さと、艶を持つ素材の透けが交わる空間を、躯透と名づけた。

Apartment Renovation | Private Area: 100.16 m²

A residence that accepts the existing structure without concealing it, taking its roughness and mass as the premise of the space. The strong outlines left by the stairs, beams, and structural elements can easily become too severe if merely exposed, giving the interior an unfinished or ruin-like impression. To counter this, glass partitions are inserted, composing the staircase almost as if it were enclosed within a showcase. The structure remains visible, yet is transformed into a spatial depth wrapped in light and reflection.

By layering the fine texture of steel, the sheen of a stainless-steel kitchen, and the transparency of glass, the roughness of the existing frame is brought into balance with the precision of daily life. Rather than filling the “intervals” left by the structure, the design refines them through translucent materials, accepting them as margins for dwelling. The space where structural hardness and the transparency of glossy materials intersect is named Kutō / Transparent Frame.
